Safety on Last Date
Effective October 19, 2026
LAST DATE DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND SCREENINGS OF ITS MEMBERS.
Every member signs in with a phone number we check, and most people you see are known to someone in your circles. That is not a background check and it is not a promise about anyone. Take the same care you would with any stranger who wants to meet you.
Safety awareness notice
- Anyone who is able to commit identity theft can also falsify a dating profile.
- There is no substitute for acting with caution when communicating with any stranger who wants to meet you.
- Never include your last name, email address, home address, phone number, place of work, or any other identifying information in your profile or first messages. Stop communicating with anyone who pressures you for personal or financial information or tries in any way to trick you into revealing it.
- If you choose to meet someone in person, always tell a family member or friend where you are going and when you will return. Never agree to be picked up at your home. Always provide your own transportation to and from your date, and meet in a public place with many people around.
A few more, from us
- Bring your family in early. Involving a wali, a parent or a trusted friend is the tradition for good reason.
- Never send money or gifts to someone you have not met, whatever the story.
- Talk in the app until you are ready. You never have to share your number.
- Trust your instincts. You can end a conversation at any time, and the other person is not told why.
If something is wrong
- In an emergency, call 911.
- Report someone from their profile. Reports go to Last Date's moderation, never to the person reported, who is not told who reported them.
- Block someone and they can no longer see you, reach you, or be in a circle with you. A block always looks like an ordinary "no" to them.
